I never met a girl who didn't like my Black 85 4+3 Corvette.
I haven't met a girl who doesn't like my Spa Yellow S2000
I was going to get get 2001 Vette until I test drove one. It felt even bigger and wider than my 85. I didn't like that. Though lord is it fast. I mean fast, any gear, any rpm, any speed it is just fast and it sounds great.

This discussion also begs the question; how long are you going to keep the vehicle? Specifically, resale and depreciation should also factor into your decision. After 10 years, which vehicle will be worth more? Which would be easier to sell? IMO, the S2K will most defn hold its value relative to the Vette. As to which would be easier to sell after 10 years...well...the jury is still out on that one.

As someone has already said, insurance is very high for the Vette. When I had mine, many companies would not cover it. State Farm did - at a high price!
My Vette was absolutely trouble free. Got 25 mpg on a trip. Also, chip mod is not real expensive and does wonders. I like the automatic but the 6 speed is great. I understand the clutch is better than in past models.
In our area there are many more Vettes than S's. I give the edge to Honda on quality, but I say that with reservations. I think one of GM's best made cars is the Vette.
They're both great cars. Both lots of fun. The Vette has torque and the S has rpm.

I really think that they're two different classes of car. I mean the S2000 is sweet (and I'd personally pick it over a 'Vette), but Corvettes, IMO, are a LOT more car. Not to mention that even the die-hard Euro magazines often call it the best bang-for-buck sports car in the world.
