2000 in one week or 3 months for a 2001?

I am very happy that I didn't wait for my "guaranteed at MSRP" deal. It gave me 3 more months of ownership and the dealer that was holding my deposit was happy because he could then charge more for the car. If you have the chance to buy a car now, do it! As they say "fecal material occurs"

I wouldn't worry about the grind issue because 1) many of the earlier cars do not have it, and 2) yours should be one of the last MY 2000 cars, so the improved parts may already be installed. What's the VIN?

If you can get the 2001 for sticker and can stand the wait, and you know it's a done deal, wait on the '01. Convertible season is practically over where you live anyway, isn't it. Like it or not, depreciation or not (it will) your 2000 would be a year old when you hit the street. I would wait. Let us know what you decide.

The Color does not matter to me as I want silver/red anyway. As for the resale value also not an issue as I plan on keeping the car at least 5 years. Still very indecisive.

Get it now, you won't regret it, but get the dealer to throw in the windscreen and floormats (standard on the 2001).

Buy it now. There is no reason to wait unless silver/red is not the color combo that you want

BTW, my tranny has been perfect. Like someone else said, we don't really know which cars have the problem

Well, I would buy it now. Something about instant gratification. I'm in So. Jersey and picked up mine 1 Nov. 99. Three months will put you in Jan. and that will probably be the worst point of the winter . I did get a lot of driving out of it last winter but not as much in Jan or Feb as in Nov and Dec. I have hade no grinds.

Add one more to the "buy it now" group. No advantage to waiting.

If somebody would've made you the same offer 3 months ago, would you have taken the car then ? Seems to me if the answer is 'yes', then it should be 'yes' to your option today. Buy now. There's still plenty of fine fall days to ride and enjoy. Get the mats and aeroscreen thrown into the package and it's a no-brainer. By the way, I've NEVER (knock on wood) experienced any grinds, differential problems, or anything else adverse. Oh yeah, on two occasions my left headlight didn't illuminate the first time I turned the switch, but haven't even seen that problem in the last 7 months.
