Default 2000 rear window

Just got a 2000 s2000, 20K miles. Trying to make it perfect. The rear window is nasty- Is it possible to get glass in the top? Can I replace the whole roof, then get the rear window with glass? If I have to stick with plastic, is there a clear option that wont get nasty? Even the honda dealership can't answer my questions.
Thanks!
Rene

You can buy a glass top, but you'll need to swap out the frame as well. Search-- it has been done plenty of times.

Oh, and welcome to the community!

You don't need to swap the frame. Buy a Robins top. See below.

Or that... IIRC if you want to stay OEM, you need to switch frames. Can anyone confirm?

I can confirm that you do NOT need to replace the frame. From the description of the OEM top on the hardtopguy website:

"If you are upgrading your 2000-2001 plastic window with the glass window top, you can now get the parts needed to modify your 00-01 frame."

^Yes. My 00-01 was fitted w. a glass top. all you basically need is two nylon straps and two elastic straps.

...but for what it's worth the two frames have different part numbers. So you were right to think that way.
