Maybe he/she (or whoever it's being sold on behalf of) bought into the salesmen that were saying it would only be sold for that year and discontinued afterwards.

It states that it was never titled, I think they must be dealers since if you buy a car it has to be titled.

I would be interrested in this IF I were going to do the exact same thing and not drive it. If you have that much $$, 20K is nothing.

No. I'd do this to myself if I ever allowed myself to get into the "collector" state of mind, where I buy things and keep them preserved forever, not enjoying them at all, just so a few years from the time of my purchase, I can turn around and say, "Look! My (insert item name here) is cleaner than your newer one and has lower (insert adjective here) than yours does!"
