More awards/accolades for the S2k. Best line from this review of the engine:

"Every time you hit the VTEC change point and get on the "power" part of the cam - and we mean every time - you're convinced you now are a hideously overpaid Formula One pilot/god."

I knew the S2K engine would make the list but I'm happy that the engine in my daily commuter -- the Nissan 3 liter -- made it as well.

Thanks for the information although I think most of us would be surprised if the S2K block didn't make such a list.

While I have never owned a Maxima, I have driven one on a number of occasions and it is a wonderful engine. You have to commend Nissan for that block. A legend in its time. It wins accolades everywhere - and rightly so

The Maxima has been my daily beater since the early 90s. I switched away from Honda because I couldn't get a manual tranny with the V6. The Nissan engine's gone through a couple of iterations -- mainly to make it lighter. As Ward puts it, it's one smooth engine. Surprisingly fast too. Of course it doesn't have the panache of the Honda 2 liter.
