2001 Clutch/Taillight Recall
So my car was just delivered... It's a 2001, and the last owner said the clutch/taillight recalls were not performed. I called the dealer before I got my car and asked, and they said it depends on the VIN, only a certain batch in 2001 had it. Well I took my car in today, and they check the VIN. It already had the spark plug recall, which I didn't know about, and he said it doesn't need the clutch/taillight recall performed...
I know I should believe him, but I want a new clutch!!!
Does anybody know how to tell from the VIN if it deserved a recall? I would like to check for myself, rather than them... I doubt he wants to give me a clutch.
Any suggestion would be appreciated. TIA

there was never a recall issued for the clutch. there was a tsb and it was up to the dealers whether or not to cover the car. basically the clutch would make noise on decelaration
same holds true for 01 tail lights - a recall was only granted to early 00s
