one true grind when it was cold. I have about 700miles on it so hopefully the notchy feel will go away. I have to baby the 1-2 shift early in the morning though. The first couple of minutes after taking off in the morning is my only fear.

I have felt gears when a couple times when doing a 1-2 shift with low rpms <3000. There wasn't a sound but you could feel it in the shift knob.

I have an '02 with 4300 miles on it (in less than 2 months). I grind into 2nd quite often (probably 2~3 times per day), and it is getting worse. I think it has to be a defect, but it only does it at high RPMs. If I push the clutch in, hold it, and wait for the RPMs to fall, it shifts into 2nd fine. I can shift into any other gear quickly without any problems at all. I would like to have it fixed, but am waiting for it to get worse, so that the dealorship can experience it.

S9Krpm, where did you get your headlights cleared?
Thanks for the response guys.
I cleared the headlights myself with the help of a friend, took off the bumper, removed headlights, used a heat gun on the silicone to separate the casement, undid 3 screws and took out the amber reflector, resiliconed the casement and put it all back together. 4hrs. Made the S look even better.
I dont feel the 1-2 grind anymore (since 2300miles and currently at 3200miles) but I definitely notice that when I shift right before what the fuel cut off which is meant to be (9200???not sure, I've never hit it) it is an extremely smooth shift.

FWIW: I have a 01 with 10,000 miles and have NOT grinded any gears what so ever.

I had another minor grind at about 3500rpm. It was just shortly leaving in the morning and the tranny is still cold.

I this only the second time but it is pissing me off. 1300kms as of today.

8000 miles. One 1-2 grind a week average. 6 months of ownership. 25 grinds roughly . I think it is all driver's error.
