Default 2002 1-2nd grind

Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this in the 2002. I got a blk/blk 2002 and used to get a 1-2 grind at 8800 rpm but noticed when I shift at 9000-9100 right before the fuel cut off there is no grind and the shift feels smoother. I would appreciate any feedback on this and is there also a TSB out for the 2002?
Thanks.

Hmmm haven't heard of this yet...

S9Krpm, where did you get your headlights cleared?

SinD, you have to try it. It's a definite rush.

The transmission is "notchy" when new. The MY2000 "1-2 grind" is something entirely different.

I have a my2002 and have experienced the 1 - 2 grind although I do not think it is a warrantee issue. I believe this because I see it happening on all types of cars on our weekly run/drive (Squirrel Nutz Run). I drive almost every week with an S2000, Integra Type R, Rsx Type S and WRX. All of us have had a 1 -2 grind at high rpm. I think it may be because of you/me may be anxious seeing there RPMs go up so fast and when you shift from 1 > 2 you don't hit the gate just right. I've notice that if I make a conscious effort to pull the stick back while keeping it against the left side of the gate I have no problems. The case is the same when downshifting to First. I know how it feels when your at a stop and you take off and the you can hear the engine screaming and at 8999 rpm you want that perfect shift and Buzzzzzz (1-2 grind) it sucks. But once you get used to the small gates and slick little shifter you'll be flying.
