Default 2002 s2000 unreliable?

Hi,

I'm in the market for an AP1 and I'm on the consumer reports website where their readers have rated the 2002 S2000 engine reliability as as a half black circle which is the second worst rating, then transmission as an open circle which is the middle rating (not good or excellent, I just guess average). Anyway the other AP1 years have a better rating. Do you guys know anything about 2002's being unreliable? Any person experience?

Thanks,

Tom

dont believe everything you read. All ap1s are about the same as far as reliable.

just dont abuse it and you will have long life. (that goes for any car, however most s2000's are driven hard)

The engine on the 2002 seems less reliable because the early AP1 owners all put their cars into ditches and walls before the engines had a chance to break....

I keed, I keed. AFAIK, no difference.

about to turn 80k here and I've had no real issues except a few minor things here and there.

I'd consider it perfectly reliable.

i have 74k miles on my 2002, original clutch and i learned how to drive stick in my "S". So I'd have to say the they are very reliable, I was told I was gonna break the transmission the way i was driving it but it's still good and clutch still grips real well. So I'd have to disagree that they are unreliable.
