2002 S2K questions
different silver - can't remember the name of it
2002 - last production year? least likely. sales people say that to pressure you into buying the car.
MSRP - good deal, but get it in writing and make sure you frame that copy!

IMHO MSRP is fair for the S2000 esp. since it's the start of the 2002 year. However, don't let them load the car up with
a bunch of extras which will run up the "MSRP"? You can get the mod's later at a lower price than the dealers will sell them for.

The NEW colors will be Sebring Silver Metallic and Suzuku Blue Metallic which is a fairly light blue. I have seen the dealer color swatches for the 2002 Hondas. As far as production is concerned I think that they will continue as long as the demand is in place, but just my two cents!!
No one really yet knows all details about 2002. Nothing official has come out. However, some dealers were supposed to have received the color pallet for next year. The silver was a lighter shade.
MSRP is a good deal. However, "the best they can do" isn't really true. If they sell for less than MSRP they are still making money. It is the best they are willing to do.
1999 dealer quote: The 2000 MY will be the only MY. With such a limited car we have to charge more.
2000 dealer quote: What a fluke to see the car produced again. A gift from the gods to be sure. Don't expect one next year. This is it. Limited quantities, we have to charge more.
2001 dealer quote: This is it. Absolutely the last year for the S2000. Limited quantities so you better buy now!
2002 dealer quote: blah blah blah last blah blah buy blah blah limted blah blah....

When I had my car in for service, I got to see the new colors in the 2002 color guide for myself:
Sebring Silver Metallic (Replaces Silverstone Metallic)
This silver is a few hues lighter than the current silver
Suzuka Blue Metallic w/ Blue Leather
I would describe it as a medium metallic blue with a hint of grey in it, lighter than the S2000 Monte Carlo Blue and darker than the Civic SI Electron Blue
The interior blue is lighter than the exterior color, very much a sky blue - not quite baby blue but close

The 2002 will have a glass rear window! I have one on order to replace my year 2000. My friend runs a Honda dealership in Glen Burnie, MD and is a S2000 nut. He has (6) 2001's on the lot he has acumulated from accross the country. He also has a S2000 demo in his driveway.
