I know it has been pointed out numerous times on this board that the 2002 trunk tail light is "taller" than the 2000/2001 lights. But I seem to think that the 2002 light has lettering on the TOP of the light. I just noticed that my 2000 light has lettering facing the back. So, putting one and two together, is it possible that the tail light is actually the same but just flipped upsidedown?

Due to a recent accident, my tail light was cracked slightly:

Anyhow, the other party's insurance gave me $210 + labor for the tail light.

I was also wondering if the 2002 tail light fits on the 2000 model. If not, I will just keep the $$$.

 

There are specific federal regulations that must be addressed when the car is sold new. One of those is the distance from the lower edge of the rear window to the high mount brake light.

The 02 rear window lower edge went up a little so the high mount brake light needed to be moved up a little.

The light is different, not just flipped upside down.
