Can't wait till August!
I'm here, but without more info. I put little confidence in the accuracy of the article, report, or whatever you might call it. Who is Best Motoring Magazine and do they have a web site? Don't see how a heat element could be put in soft vinyl without at least the possibility of melting. What would happen if you cut defroster on with top down? Sounds like fire.

the addition of defroster lines on the acrylic
rear window, and the very high likelihood of
minor headlamp and taillamp redesign."[b]

Perhaps StonGard has developed a new rear window plastic that is warrantied to withstand the heat of defrosting wires as long as you don't attempt to hold them to the warranty.

Can we perhaps expect conformation/denial of these rumors when Greg, Sondra, etal take the plant tour in Japan next month?

Who is Best Motoring Magazine and do they have a web site?
Best Motoring offers videos and magazine articles on all types of cars, it's not unlike the British Top Gear videos - except it's all in Japanese. The biggest difference I'll have to say is that they actually test modified cars. Best Motoring also gets some famous Japanese race car drivers to test and rate the cars on various tracks. Go to Ebay and do a search. If you like mods, you'll like the videos.

I usually go and rent them in my neighborhood Japanese video stores.

There is no official website that I know of.

Look at it this way, a defroster is more feasible than a glass window. 50 - 75 Deg C doesn't sound too high for our existing plastic window.

Like DaveZ says, it'll be a first if Honda is able to put a defroster in a plastic window. Personally I'm not convinced.

You guys have hyped up this whole rear window thing to such an extent that nothing is credible any more. I just wish I had an alligator infested swamp in Florida to sell - I'd make a killing on this board.

Luder, whatever happened to your 2 piece glass rear window or is that another pipedream?

Reading closely at the vtec site, it says it will get defroster lines on the *acrylic* rear window. Is the ones on the current models acrylic? I thought acrylic was a harder substance than what the current window is made out of.
