Default 2002 this week or Wait for 2003!!!!!!

I have been in the market for the s2000 for a year but have not been able to decide on the color. ( I am a die hard honda person, I used to own a 98 integra type-r until my brother killed, hence the name) I Finally decided on silver with red, but am not sure if i should wai for a 2003 to come out or should I Just go out and get a 2002 this week. Can anyone think of any good resons to get one over the other???? I have no car right now

Tough choice, but I think that if you could hang on for a couple of months without a car, it will be worth the wait. There won't be a significant change in the S2000 and the style will stay the same, but you wil lhave more colour combinations to choose from (Tan interior with white supposedly), and you will definitely have a few upgrades like they did with the 01- 02 transition, so I would wait for the 03, but if you cant wait, get the 02.

I would say get an 02!! You allready know what color you want (which is avaliable in an 02) and the money you will save I dont know why you would wait. The main difference from the 02 to the 03 , from what I have seen, is color. I dont think this is worth the extra money.....Go for an 02 unless you are just caught up in owning an 03

I own a silverstone, that's my reason...but yes you are right, Sebring is a shiny very light silver and silverstone is darker, almost grey........

I personally like both colors. I just sold my 99 Titanium Silver BMW which looks a lot like Sebring and I thought it looked amazing. I have heard the Silverstone is very difficult to match paint wise if you need bodywork or touch up

I'll preface this by stating the obvious -all cars are depreciating assets. But, the resale difference between an '02 and '03 should be around $1,500 in a year and gradually decline (get closer) from there. The flip side to that is your '02 would likely develop into a low or average mile car (by the black book standards) and your '03 would probably turn into an average to high mile car. I don;t knowwhat your driving habits are, but starting right at the model year change vs. starting right at the end would end up making a difference in mileage and market value. If you think you can get the 2002 for, at least, $1,500 less than the same '03, I'd do it.

If you plan on owning it for quite a while, it doesn't matter either way. Don't anticipate any changes...Great choice on color. I'm in a Sebring/Red, but either is beautiful.

Anyway you go, you really can't lose. Buy it tomorrow and it'll be broken in properly way before the '03's get here and the Jersey winter will be farther away.
