So, I'm on the edge of purchaing an S2K. Aside from the model year issues of $$ depreciation, are there any significant differences which will be introduced with the 2003's??

In '02 Honda responded to all the reasonable criticisms (except the radio) from the first two years. My understanding is Honda's strategy is to keep all years basically interchangeable and compatible until it discontinues the model. The wait for a '03 would have some bragging rights but not much more car, imo. Just a wait.

 

I am in the same position as you...but i decided to go for the 2002....couldnt wait...the dealer said it wasnt coming until january...i cant wait that long...

 

You just need to question yourself whether it is worth it to wait a few more months. Can you already picture yourself cruising down the boulevard, top down and your favorite grooves bumping on the stereo? If so, then don't wait and get it now. Carpe Diem, seize the damn day. You never know what your destiny beholds for you.

 

I would wait for the '03, it is only 3 more months. Some dealers will try to tell you they cannot get them untill the next year, but some will also tell you the truth, and you can get it in Oct. I had this same thing happen. I also got my '02 in Oct '01.

 

Honda is always tight-lipped. But usually there are at least some juicy rumors. This time, looks like none. The only change that some have said is verified is the return of Silverstone Silver (a nicer silver, IMHO) in addition, not replacing, the Sebring Silver. As to the "January" claim, I'd agree with a previous poster that this was most likely a come-on from a salesdrone to get you to buy now.

I hope they surprise us with Black/tan, as well.

 

IMHO - Now is the time for a great deal on the 02.

 

The only reason to wait for an 03 is if you want a color not offered in 02, such as White/Tan or Sebring Silver. Also, Black with Red interior is discontinued in 03.
