ran out to the car - yep, I have the wires. Funny thing is, I don't really need the defroster, but I'm really curious as to why I don't have the switch.

If you bought the car new, check the sticker. If it says it has a rear window defoster and the switch was not installed, they are obligated to install it.

In Europe, the MY04 has the front light washer button on the switch right behind the wipers! On the MY05, the button is blank as the light washers is integrated in the windshield washing installation. If the lights are on, they will be washed also. The button on the left of the steering wheel is always for the rear fog light in Europe. We do not get the cruise control fuction over here

In US ALL 02+ have a rear defrost. If you don't then it's not an 03'. Check your vin.
