2003 S2000 HID lights
Hello all, I am new to the site and its great to be here.
I am hoping someone can help me out here. I plan to buy a 2003 S2000 but the OEM headlights were removed the head lights. I got a pair of OEM head lights used, but they did not have any bulbs or ballasts. I found some HID kits on EBAY but I have no idea what type of HID bulbs fits in the OEM head lights for about $250. The kit comes with Philips and 5000k D2R 85126 bulb.
Can someone please tell me if the OEM LIGHT HOUSING used 9005, 9006, H4 or
H7?
Second question is does the S2000 OEM HOUSING use a Lo/Hi bulb or does it use two different bulbs? (sorry never had a car with HID before so not sure the high beam is HID or just a standard bulb.)
Any suggestion are welcome, I really don't want to go to the dealer to buy a set of ballasts and bulbs I am sure it will costs me a lot of money. I would want to use my money on a supercharger.
Thanks.

Ok, first, go to Honda for the ballast, you can get aftermarket bulbs tho. The ballasts will mount to the headlight assemblies. Don't buy a kit since the car is already prewired for HID. Also the OEM Light housing uses HID, meaning None of the 9005, 9006, H4 or H7 bulbs will fit. Do not buy these, go to a website that specializes in replacement HIDs for cars WITH HIDs. The hi bulbs on an HID system are never HID, you'd blind anything you didn't preemptively shut them down for. Check Autozone.com for the type of hi-beam bulb you need, I haven't replaced it.
Do not buy the bulbs from a dealer, you can find them for half price or less online and get just as nice if not nice bulbs.

bi-xenon cars often use shutters that cover part of the bulb while acting as low beams and then flip up to expose the rest of the bulb when you hit the hi beams. the brightness stays the same but the light now covers a broader area.
The car has a clean title and about 20,000 miles on it. Its just missing the head lights. The dealer wanted $346 per ballast and $175 per bulb. OUCH!!!
I think I found a used ballast on line and it does looks like the ballast fits right under the light housing.
So for the bulb I should just look for any D2S HID bulb will do??
Thanks guys.

Forgot to ask does anyone know if the honda uses a standard ballast for all of their cars. If so maybe I can go to a junk yard and pick up a ballast off of a late mode accord. Or do I HAVE to get the ballast for the S2000?

so far this is the cheapest dealer I found on the net, about $100 less than my local dealer.

It is nice they have a break down drawing of the head light. If anyone knows a cheaper dealer please let me know.
Thanks.
