2003 s2k
i say if you can afford this... get an 00 for thousands less... and you can still enjoy the fun of the S. be smart and think of the long term effects. paying 32k for a 25k car is just stupid. Good Luck and keep us updated. One more thing, as mentioned in the above post, dont look at your monthly payments... look at the price tag.
So what happens when you get your first speeding ticket?
Or when you have your first RWD fishtail on S02's in the cold rain and sideswipe a guardrail.
Your insurance will skyrocket (not to mention having to pay for your deductible).
And that's not including the cost of tires and premium gas.
Stick with your tiburon, study hard, and buy a 911 when your older.
It'll break your heart worse if you have to sell your car because you got in over your head. Don't go there. You're 19. Plenty of time for nice cars. Save your cash.
If your 19, I know your dying for a nice car. But your old enough to make your own decision. The reality is that if your asking if you can "really" afford this car, you most likely cannot. However, if you do the math and also figure in variable costs such as some maintenance, tickets, mods, and you think you can still afford the car, THEN DO IT. Theres nothing wrong with having a nice car when your young. People seem to feel that if your young you must drive a POS car, if you afford it, do it and dont look back. Older people will always hate. I'm 21. financially sound. Never looked back when I bought my M.
I'm 21 yrs insurance is pretty good on me and yes s2000 r crazy cars just don't buy the rx-8 :> it feels like your driving a sedan
. S2000 is the way to go if you can afford it, but remember the s2000 aren't cheap cars for maintance.

Well here is the situation I am 19 yrs old I bought my 2003 tiburon a year ago. My Insurance now is $250 per month. I have a perfect record.
Too bad car insurance isn't as much a bargain as homeowners insurance. I guess I feel fortunate to have $720 a year full coverage and high limits (and I think for a perfect record, that's a rip-off too). You might be best off to put the 'For Sale' sign in the Tiburon (since you don't really care for it) assuming it won't bring you a negative equity against whatever you owe on it. If you're still set on a S2000 after that, then you should hunt for one of the great deals on '00 - '03 (they are out there). It's alot more beneficial to you (in most instances) if you are buying without having the burden of having to lose 'The Other Car'.
