Mine hasn't yellowed after almost two years. Up close you can definitely tell the difference between a panel that has it and a panel that doesn't. There is a pretty distinct line, but only if you're standing a foot away.
This is what mine looked like last summer after more than a year of driving including every day in the winter. We use a lot of crushed gravel on our roads in the winter.
mine had never yellowed and it was on my car for over 2 years
here are a few pics of the custom job David has done for my car
We can sell complete kits for apx. half the price of the xpel kits, made of the same stuff, same pattern and precut for all year model cars. If interested give me a ring 404-867-0334
Yeah the stuff is great. I got www.clearshield.com installed for $500 full front kit with mirrors.
Nobody notices it even if they walk right up to it. Mirrors though are a little easier to tell that you have it. But a least it keeps the baby chip free!!!
If $390-ish installed is worth a 'short' drive to Houston, I know someone I can highly recommend. I doubt he has the 2004 kit (then again, maybe he does), but he can most likely custom-fit one for your vehicle. He recently redesigned the kit on my 2002 because he didn't like the way the original 3M kit fit and looked, and he is capable of cutting custom pieces if necessary (as I had him do on my 2002 'bottom lip'). Moreover, his customer service is exceptional. I know this would require you to keep coming back to Houston if you had any problems, but maybe that can be your excuse for a drive.
To give you an idea of what coverage his kits provide, he originally installed the X-Pel upper and lower kits (www.xpel.com). He later redesigned the kit so that the lower half merges along the bottom lip (and some other minor mods that make the kit lie better). The extra tidbits (horizontal surfaces like the inside of the 'mouth,' etc.) were complimentary under 'customer service.'
anyone have close up pics where u can actually see where this film is visible? Any ideas about whats the best brand to get since ive noticed there are soo many people making this stuff? Any dealers in NJ?
lol oh wow i didnt realize u could see the line on the silver car posted above. my new question is then can u polish this stuff and make it as shiny as your car would have been without it? and is there anyway u can get the whole hood or fender done instead of jus half.
