Isn't the new civic SI kind of like a grown CRX/DEL SOL?

The new SI is close, but doesn't quite get there. As for a grown Del Sol...can a tiny car get any fatter than that?

UPDATE: 12/02/02

According to my sources (today) there will definitely be an all-new 2004 S2000 with a new body and new powerplant. The project to date is still considered hush-hush. I really wish someone else would dig up some info. Although my sources have always been accurate I'm looking for outside confirmation. I told him I was thinking about letting my current model go, but only if the re-designed 2004 was a sure thing. He said it was a definite! Considering the source I do feel very confident but nothing is 100% ?????

BigWave10, what about the sources that say 2005 will be the year with the re-engineering and new body? Can you ask your sources about this article? This article seems to be reputable too.

What would you drive in the meantime?

Hey don't forget, there's some of us out there with plastic rear windows. Some change is certainly welcome change. I would have still voted for Monte Carlo over Suzuka blue. Maybe they'll surprise us all and create a Frankenstein S2000 dualnote with a hundred horse power electric assist to the front tires.

If they do, then I'll try to get an '03 before they're all gone! Last thing they should do IMO is make the S2000 unnecessarily complicated.

So we're not talking about the S2200? I read a little blurb on that somewhere. Honda will be bumping the displacement to 2.2L and the car will be a tintop only. The pictures I saw looked like an S2K with a roof. Not a major redesign. This is probably old news to you guys, huh?

More like old, unsubstantiated rumors started by someone who was dreaming about the update he/she wanted.

No, no, no... I read about the S2200 before I even knew about this webpage. I think I read about it in Autoweek, or some smaller publication's webpage. Maybe I can find it again...
