Default 2004 vs older models?

Been away for a while (have new bouncing baby boy) so haven't been reading the forums. What is the concensus on the new model-better, faster, or the opposite? Saw an article on Temple of VTEC that showed dyno results of 2004 with 240 hp at the wheel (vs crank) vs a older model with about 217 at the wheel. What is the real world experience from those that have owned/driven both.

well if you didnt know, redline changed to 8k, some cosmetic changes were made such as the lights, interior, etc..
as far as performance goes the MY04 has closer to 260hp, and 170+torque, because Honda underrated the motor, this is a contraversial topic about the power, but i think it is true..
the gear ratio was slightly changed in the early gears, the MY04 has more low end torque, giving the car more pull to it,
other than those things, some big some small,
the rest is still the same
anyone else remember any other differences?

"But how is it to drive? Should I sell my 2001 for a 2004?"

Do a test drive, determine the cost of changing, then make your decision. Only you can answer that question.

And, since you own a '01 and presumably have some experience with the '00-'03 models, you should be in a good position to judge whether you like the '04 changes or not.

I suggest locking this thread before it turns into a flamewar and instead searching for the hundreds if not thousands of posts which have been expended on the subject.

Both cars are great, and they are very similar. It's
hard to knock one without knocking the other.
I'm very happy with my '00, and I'm sure I would
enjoy the '04 as well.

Yeah, I'm just gonna squash this before it starts. This is a sensative subject that usually turns into a flame war. Please do a search and test drive before making your decision. THanks

And congrats on teh new baby boy
