Default 2005 MSRP has gone up?

I hope this is not a repost. I stopped by the local Honda dealer the other day and saw two 2005 models side by side, then I looked at the stickers on them and they have different MSRPs. On one, it was $32,950 while on the other (with a higher 2005 VIN) it was $33,150. There were no other obvious differences in the sticker (both cars were equipped the same, i.e., no "factory options" added), and both cars were shipped to the same dealer through the same port of entry. So was there a $200 price increase in the middle of the 2005 model year?

I read about honda raising all their msrps except on 3 vehicles due to increased steel costs, I think.

i noticed that also when i bought my car 2 weeks ago. I think it's the dealer mark-up...but don't quote me on that.

There were 2 GPW cars with different MSRP on the lot and i picked the higher$$ with lower miles. No adjustment on the price...signed the deal before i picked the car.

The price is higher because there will be no more S2000s after 2005.

Thanks. That must be it.

For EDness, the MSRP has nothing to do with the dealer mark-up. MSRP stands for "Manuracturer Suggested Retail Price", and it comes on a sticker directly from the manufacturer (Honda in this case) and it is not something the dealers have control over. The dealers can add their own stickers with their mark-ups, but it does not affect the MSRP.

it is relatively easy to get the S for ~$500 over invoice...
