2005 S2000 or 2005 Boxster
didnt read the whole thread, but this is my 2 cents.
i came from an 02 boxter that was a great car, unfortunetly it had problems and it was easier for me to get the s2k. my family has had a few porsches, and one thing is that these things require mantinence. if you can afford it, then get the boxter, especially the new one but bottom line is that you wont really regret either descision.

Be prepared to pay $$$ for oil change and other service related fees.
As I heard from current Boxter owner he had to pay well over $1000 per scheduled maintenance + oil change since they have to drop engine out of the car in order to perform any maintenances.
Boxter? Nah....S2000 is better choice.
Unless you don't care about money.

To quote Tony Soprano " A Boxster is a Porsche in panties" Just kidding, great car but pricey compared to the S2000. Not to mention service (much more than service on the S2000) especially major ones. But, you get a double latte while waiting.

Drive 'em both, then think about what you can do with the $30k you saved by getting an S2000.

Since the '05 boxster is an all new updated version, i doubt you coud get one under MSRP. The basic '05 boxster is estimate at about $43,900 to $45K MSRP. And i doubt you could get one at that price. Add few options and your looking at clost to $47k to $50k. Save yourself some money and get a '04 S2k. Since is close to year end you can get one at invoice under $30k. There is very little difference from '05 to '04. Let see, if it was me i would get the '04 S and and
add a Comptech Supercharger, Toda header, Fujisobo exhaust, Work S1 3pcs 18" wheels, Buddyclub coilover, Stoptech brakes and it'll
still be cheaper than getting an '05 boxster.

I have had both and i really think you should go drive both and see which one works for you. The Boxster was a great car and really tought me how to drive, i did many driving events with the POC.
Get what makes you happy and dont listen to anyone else unless they are making the payment
