2007 AP2 Type V
Good day all,
I am looking at the above from a local dealer. Car is stock in good condition, the engine I assume is healthy (water dripping out from exhaust after starting for about 5mins) and just had the VGS unit changed (apparently for 2k SGD which is about 1500USD with receipt). I had never driven the VGS version of the S2k version and is quite worried that I cannot manage it.
With my country's laws whereby most cars get scrapped or exported by their 5th to 10th year, it is quite rare to find s2k that is stock and accident free. The Type S units are almost gone from the roads, those few units left are either kept/ might want to sell at ridiculous prices or have been crashed and rebuilt.
Some queries that I have:
1) Singapore is a small country and mostly city driving, maybe only max 10x a year that I will bring it to Sepang.
Is the VGS good for daily city driving?
2) Is it interchangeable with the normal AP2 column?
As in if I cannot manage it, I can change it to a normal AP2. (There is only 1 post that claims that it is a direct swap without much details, after searching in this forum).
3) Can the VGS column fit directly with a normal steering, eg a nardi/momo or must I only use the VGS steering?
4) What other problems should I anticipate with the Type V?
I hope some kind souls can help me.
Thank you.

That is not correct, depending on the temperature outside it can cause condensation from the warmth of the exhaust gasses on a cold exhaust, even brand new cars do this.
Condensation dripping from an exhaust is simply due to moisture condensation on the warm metal. It has nothing to do with the "health" of an engine. A "healthy" engine can cause this just as easily as an "unhealthy" engine.
City driving should be wonderful with VGS.
The VGS system was designed to let you keep your hands on the wheel at all times (i.e. no more hand-over-hand steering in parking lots), but without using a super-high "race car" steering ratio, which could make the car feel twitchy and unstable. High-speed things like highway lane changes should feel almost the same as the standard steering, because the ratio is similar for small steering inputs. But the ratio increases as you turn the wheel more, which makes sharp low-speed turns (like parking lots or intersections) very easy. Also, VGS can make it easier/faster to counter-steer if the car starts to slide, since you can achieve full opposite-lock steering without taking your hands off the wheel.
So I think you'll love your VGS.
I assume all of this ratio-changing is done in the steering rack, so you could replace the actual VGS steering wheel if you want. (If you do, sell your VGS wheel to me!)

I doubt it is interchangeable, as i understand that it took many workshops/mechanicals to troubleshoot a type v steering (electronics).
Crash and rebuilt? I guess as long as the main structural beams are intact, should be good. If referring to the one below, you need to get it cheap and inspected by a mechanic. The saving is set aside for rebuilt of engine and/or transmission, as advertised Mileage is not real.
