I only buy new cars so I don't ever have to lose sleep over what was done with "my" car before I bought it.

Me, too. Havent bought used since 98. It always amazes me how people seem to think they know more than Honda Engineers when it comes to break-in procedures. If it didnt matter, why do they make a point of putting it in print? I mean the owners manual would literally say, " VTEC freely upon delivery of your new s2000." Sorry, but things like this, I will always defer to Honda engineering.

Nice numbers! I am wanting to head over to Church's to get baselined. I came from Autowave last month with 217.2 on a dyno dynamics.. Try to head over there and see what you get.

Thanks bro. I love the intake and yes I did get a hell of a deal on it. BTW check your PM box.

BTW guys I never stated I got some incredible numbers. I just wanted to post the exact condition the car was in when it was dynoed. This gives a reference point to others that have the same year car.

If the ECU can be programmed to not allow you to VTEC before the engine is properly warmed up then "Honda Engineering" could certainly make it so that you wouldn't have the option of not following the "break-in" procedure and they'd probably have a tattle tale programmed as well if you didn't follow the rules. I have to agree with a previous post that it is more about becoming acclimated to the vehicle more than an engine longevity issue.
^I agree. I think it is probably more important for the new clutch to be broken in then the engine.

I also agree that the break in is for the clutch, brakes, and other things in the driveline not the engine. What I do is: I don't do crazy shifts or extreme braking during the first 2-300 miles or so. Thats more than enough time for things to get seated properly.

I hate to say it but this makes no sense... 239.9 WHP? The car only makes 237 at the crank. Same goes for torque : 171.8 vs 162 at the crank.

I can't believe an intake/exhaust would make much difference on such a factory tuned car. Is this what others get? Is the car underrated from the factory?
