2007 s2000: who else has one?
I also bought a 2007 silverstone/black as my 60th birthday gift to myself. Due to the fact that the local dealer did not have any s2000's in stock nor any commitments to import any within a reasonable time period, I bought mine in Miami through the Internet at Maroone Honda and the entire transaction from purchase to arrival here in San Juan was seamless.
However, for those that complain about high prices allow me to make you feel better: Even though Puerto Rico is an American territory, local taxation applies and the local colonial authorities place unreasonably high taxes on all cars. As a result taxes for my S2000 were approximately $10,800.00,plus transportation and insurance costs (another $1,400.00), plus registration and license fees (another $300.00).
Still, belive it or not, by calculating what the current local dealer prices would have been, I still saved about $7,000.00 by importing it directly.
In conclusion I am extremely happy about purchasing the car and enjoying it thoroughly.
Regards,
Arturo
