2008/09 s2000 no window tape?
Sorry if this is a old topic of a repost, but i was browsing around looking at 2008/09 models and i realized that all the base s2000 dont have the black window tape, like the previous MY s2000 had. I was just curious, did honda not want to add the black window tape because its such a small thing and no one would know if it was gone, or does it make the car flow better? lol idk i just spotted no window tape on the base cars. Now i feel like taking my window tape off

yeah 08's didn't have em. and I suppose '09s won't either.
Its a matter of preference. I like mine on right now....who knows if I decide with a hardtop sometime down the road then I may remove mine. The only problem is I don't think the paint has clear coat on it (is that right?) so it won't be as shiny as the rest of your paint.

The paint is clearcoated. The US market was the only one that got the tape for whatever reason.. maybe to go with the trend at the time of its launch (Corvette, Z3, etc). Now you rarely black windshield frames.
I removed mine a while ago. Hairdryer + goo gone and some patience and it was off. Some people have had bad luck where it was sanded down for the tape to be flush, etc. But I got lucky.

I always thought the window tape looked better.
I have seen a lot of people remove it over the years because it is a "free mod" just to start posting two weeks later about how to put it back on.

imo, if you don't have a hardtop and took off the window tape, the s2k looks tacky. like the ragtop was just an afterthought, the color doesn't flow into the top.

If I had an 08-09' without the tape. the first mod I would do is add the tape. With a HT the car does look slightly better with the tape removed but not enough to make up for the unattractive appearance of the car with the soft top down.
