2008 CR hardtop latch rattle
My 2008 CR has 16k miles and recently developed hardtop latch rattle. I've spent hours researching the different fixes and have tried various solutions with limited success. Thanks to the HardTopGuy for spending time on the phone.
However, the car is still under warranty so I'm going to let the dealer try and fix it. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Try this:
After you close your top and latch it, press the button to continue to close it, I usually press the button to close it twice after it's been latched and it usually takes away the noise. It used to make noise all of the time until I started using this method.

i tried shin-itsu grease, i tried adjusting the latches, i tried stuffing the latch with EPT tape and the rattle always came back. finally swapped tops with another CR owner that didn't have the rattle and the noise was gone. took it in and the dealer replaced the latch. the new latch is VERY firm.
i suggest everyone thats under warranty bring it in to the dealer. if they see enough rattling latches they might put out a tsb.

If it is the plastic pieces on the side of the latches then this is an easy fix. Try to locate some foam and push it between the latch and plastic piece. Doesn't take much.
This is what the dealer will do.

I'll stay posted to see if you have any success through the dealers.
