I don't doubt it. My local dealer who is never known for great pricing is trying to move his leftover 07 for 25k.

Spirit Honda in El Monte. It's an internet price though. You can try requesting a quote from them and see what you get.

I talked to the "Internet Consultant" and he said he can get any color I want for that price. I'm guessing he can order one because their current stock (from their website) doesn't have the color I want. That's why I asked if Honda is still taking orders or not.

He also said that that price is guaranteed only for 48 hours. I believe they say that to get you to buy it quickly. Which if I get a new car I still have a few months left for my current lease to end.

What APRs have you guys been getting for the S? I have a pretty darn good credit score of 856.

So I requested a quote from a well known Honda dealer via e-mail for a 2009 S2000. I got the reply today and I am quite surprised.

I was expecting it to be around $29-32k.

But get this, I was given: MSRP: $28,670 and "My internet price" of $26,300. The e-mail also states that there are "1-2 other vehicles with similar equipment for an Internet Price as low as $22,995.00*". Not sure if those "other vehicles" are S2000s or not. I'm also not sure if those are OTD prices either.

So right off the bat I was like no way, that's too good to be true because the 09 MSRP is over $34k. But is it really that far fetched? The S2000 hasn't been in high demand for a long time and with the economy today, is it really that surprising?

Originally I wanted to get a used car next but finding the right one for me before my current lease ends is stressful. I'm really tempted to pull the trigger on this deal.

I haven't responded to them yet because I want to get the community's opinion.
An '09 S2000 has MSRP of $35,600 and dealer invoice of just over $32,000. http://www.kbb.com/KBB/NewCars/PricingRepo...000_246066.aspx

If you're getting him down to $26-27k on a new 09, you're getting a great deal. Unless it's their demo or something.

What should I look for to make sure the car is a 09? There's a plate in the engine bay with all the car's info right?

Check the serial number on the dash. If the 10th digit in the serial number is a 9, you have a 2009 model year car. Otherwise the '08 and '09 S2000 are indistinguishable.
