I believe you'll find ap2 gear limited to 157 with different drivers getting closer to that speed. The drag limit rating is the "other" type of limit when no chip is in place. Ap1 have higher top end because of their gearing, YouTube videos will show this.

Aero would have to improve to let 240hp go beyond 155-160 as would gearing.

Having personally been beyond the drag limit on a few hondas I would tell you that they felt fine in a straight line. Braking was horrible stock.

Another factor we've all forgotten is rubber. Few tires can sit at 200mph for long.

I'd you got a custom aero package with u see body and increased the down force the car would get stable. If I remember correctly the s starts to make lift above 120-130.

I think the list is short
- final drive
- aero
- rubber

There was a road and track article once where they claimed no car can hit 200mph with less than 500hp. Not sure what that comment was based on though!

Add to the list: balls of steel. I would not even consider going that fast in an S2000, no matter how ideal the conditions were!

The 157 figure is correct. The CR hit 157 and still had enough power to go faster; speed was climbing steadily until I ran out of gears.

The important question is what would it take to hit 200 mph with the top down......

you can have fun with all the ratios right here.

you'd need an ap1 with a redline of roughly 10700 to hit 200mph with stock ap1 tranny and diff.
