I did a search, and found out no one post this before. It is about mods that doesn't require Turbo or SC boost. Everything checks out for me. I am really skeptic on how the exhuast gain so much power. Can anyone varify this article?

I guess this is not a bad mod for our S2000, if you worry about boost reliability.

ps. It looks like they are running four wheel dyno on S2000. I guess that is why the output figure is so low.

I'm a little sceptical myself of any purported gains from anyone referring to the S2000 as a coupe.

sigh do a search regarding this.

1. Don't look at the absolute dyno figures - it uses a dyno dynamics - which will give different readings than a roller dyno like the dynojet.

2. There is a discussion regarding this in the Australian Forum

Well, this is a "reporter" talking, not the modification's maker. So, naturally, there must be serious mistakes like this (otherwise the reporter is not doing their job as required by their secret union bylaws).

Can you tell I hate reporters?

Nothing in the report sounds "way off", although I don't recall seeing any muffler improving HP as much as is claimed in the article.

Wonder what the cost for all that is?

tze - Can you please point out where is the thread in Aus Forum? I couldn't find it.

I know this article is too good to be true. Otherwise, some of us already found out the secret by now.

I think they got a single exhuast upgrade. I know that gain the most HP. But, it really lost the cool factor. But, if that gains 20HP on dyno, I will take it. I can't let my friend outrun my S2000 anymore. Speed is too addictive.

There is no discussion anywhere on this topic in the Australian Forum. But many do not believe what was proven, hell besides who knows what really was going on. Bullshit ... That's how everyone see this anyway.

I highly doubt that you can get that much power gain from the limited mods that they did. It's hard to squeeze much more power out of the car. A lot of tuners that I talked to say there is room for improvement, but the Honda engineers have designed the engine to be very good already. It's basically a race engine with very little inefficiencies.

I though it was BS as well. Though, few new facts came to my attention that made me re-think my position ... it deserves some looking into. Here's the Oz info Tze was efering to:

And with the shapely coupe capable of a 0-100 time of 6.6 seconds
0 - 100 in 6.6 seconds ..... maybe they mean Kilometers ?
