Default 2660 Car Weight

I was wondering if 2660 was a good weight for the s. From the looks for it people have done a lot of mods to get theirs relatively close to that. I think mine is pretty damn light for only putting a hardtop on, removing soft top, intake, single exhaust.

Pretty good... I'm 2,767 with carbon top, single exhaust and spare items from the trunk out. I'm looking forward to taking out the soft top this summer to help lighten the load. It all depends on how much gas you had when weighed. I was about 1/3 tank.

That's not bad at all.. see I had everything out of the trunk to and one bar under a half a tank. What's weird is I weighed that same amount with the soft top on.

I got my weight measured on a corner balance. It seems weird that the weight would be the same with the soft top. I could see it that way if you have OEM as a change to the OEM and no soft top will usually save around 25lbs. Then it just depends on how accurate the scale is. Still seems pretty light for what you have. My hardtop is only 18lbs and exhaust is 9lbs (titanium)...

Are you tracking the car?

At the track my '02 weighed 2,755 lbs with a 1/2 tank gas. The car is bone stock and that was with the spare still in place. Each corner was within 6 lbs of each other.

Mine weighed out to 2670 with a half tank of gas. I have (dual) exhaust, intake, test pipe, RPF1s, and took out the spare tire/tool kit and some other small misc. things. So I'd say you're pretty good for just HT, intake, and exhaust.

This was on a big truck scale so I'm not sure if it's perfectly accurate.

The lighter the better for tracking. I think ultimately it has little improvements unless you're at the limit of your ability to improve your line/throttle/brakes.

I always laugh when someone who's overweight shaves weight off their car... just saying. 6 foot and 170lbs, vs 6 foot an 270 lbs. Save the 100lbs on you, save the money and your life

Same goes for the fit weight lifters. I gained 20 pounds of muscle since I bought the car.

Yes i plan on tracking the car this season. And yes it was on a truck scale, it only weighs in 20s so i guess it could anywhere form 2640 t0 2680.
