keep in mind that the cars did get heavier through the years. I would be happy if my car was under 2800

I always laugh when someone who's overweight shaves weight off their car... just saying. 6 foot and 170lbs, vs 6 foot an 270 lbs. Save the 100lbs on you, save the money and your life
1. That was really funny!
2. I'm 60, weighing 250#, and everytime I get in and out, I wish I would have owned one back in my younger -200# days, ha! (solid muscle in those days!)

Update on a new scale. Original scale said 2767 without drive and same gas. Sunday, 2906 with me in it and my helmet. Had about 30lbs of fuel... So 2876 lbs... Helmet and me at 176 so a nice round 2700lbs for the car.

I just removed the softtop assembly last week. For those who were interested, the official weight of the top, frame, and motors is a total of 65lbs.

Did you pick up more than a full second at the track? How much will your winnings be when you start posting in the top 3?

Mine weighs in at 2783 with me and gear on in it, half tank of fuel. I'm 184, plus say 10 lbs of gear. 194 lbs total extra. That's 2589 without me in it. Factor in fuel at 6 lbs a gallon at 6 gallons, and you're at 2553 lbs. Soft top and full interior are stripped. Has coilovers and 17x9s with 255s all around. Hardtop, test pipe and rear wing. That's about it.

Id say 2660 is a very reasonable weight to obtain.

From our testing in the s2000 10 lbs is equal to about .1 sec, so 100 lbs could easily be a full second. I know you were being sarcastic, but just stating the facts. We do compete.

This what I wanted to know.

I was being sarcastic for the average joe. If you compete to win it completely makes sense. Passenger seat is the first thing I'd remove to save weight

I just wanted to let you guys know the actual weight savings of deleting the soft-top. I did it bc I never take my hardtop off and I like the cleaner look.
