excellent information.

i have 1 hamp left so i will be going to get a batch of new PCX filters on my next trip to the parts department.

it's okay to use the PCX filter on other honda's right? (90 accord, 2000 accord 2.2, 03 honda element) it'd be nice to just pick up a case and know that i can use it for all of the cars i change the oil for.

I spoke with my local dealer. They say the quantity you need to buy for a discount is 30 units.

I know I'm late to the party here, but whatever you do, DON'T USE THE OVERSIZED MOBIL 1 FILTER. Read details here: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...019#post2127528

guys: check out synthetic media filters for your s2000's. The fiber shape and density actually allows superior flow than treated cellulose( pleated paper), AND much finer filtration, down to 5 microns or so. Also it will not by-pass nearly as often under hard acceleration. Yes, all full flow filters by-pass ( oil is not filtered any more) when a pre-set psi differential is reached. Some filters are as low as 15 or 20 psi differential. When you wind up the rpms, guess what: your oil pump gets it on making more oil pressure, and your full flow filter begins to by-pass to prevent stavations to the bearings since the filter cannot pass all that oil( pressure) thru the media and give adequate flow to the lube oil system. The synthetic fiber media help mitigate that phenomena. So better filtration, to higher lube oil pressure and flows, and for longer intervals before by-passing. I use a AC/DELCO UPF 59 in my 5.3L GMC V-8 work truck. I run it 15,000 miles in conjunction with LE Monolec Ultra 15w/40 engine oil. Regular spectro oil analysis proves the effectiveness of this combination, low soot, low wear, low oxidation. Not sure who makes one for Honda, sorry. lubeman
