Does the type of oil (mineral/synthetic) important in choosing the oil filter? I've been using the Honda one with Amsoil synthetic, and am now using HAMP with Redline synthetic. Should I switch back to the Honda PCX filter?

Both the PCX and the Hamp are good filters.

If I were you I'd be changing that filter first chance you get. I witnessed one of the PureOne failures during a club track day. Luckily the car wasn't a total loss but it sure caused lots of fire damage under the hood.

Road Rage, nice job!

Oh, and it has a few more holes on the top for flow...

Thanks again Road Rage.
Wtf, I just bought the PCX-004 one from the Paramus NJ Honda, and it has the amount of holes pictured on the left. 6. But the part number is the same. Is there any reason why? They also charged me like 13 bucks for it with tax.

Should I go back and return it? Where do I get the one with the 8 holes? Or does it really matter?

Six versus 8 holes but the 6 hole versions holes are a little larger so flow should be about the same. I have two of the six hole versions myself. Not a big deal.

I read through a few of the earlier posts and would assume that the 8 hole is an improvement over the 6 hole based on some pretty close scrutinization by the original poster. You might look at it like this- 99% of all members of this forum will only be using about 25% of a filters true life due to very close intervals between changes. Both appear to be high quality filters and would expect zero advantage of one over the other. because of these factors ,I have no qualms using the six hole.

Is there somewhere I can get the PCX 004 filter for less than 13 bucks each? Damn. I'm so used to paying for that POS Fram filter. LOL.

M1-104 ftw, as verifed by particle count analysis, not cutting open a filter housing.
