Now that I'm almost on holidays I'm taking the time to have my own 3 piece RHD floor mats made locally by the same shop that does my MuZMats.

So if you're a UK, Japanese or Aussie owner these will fit the bill perfectly

The templates are being made today. I'm undecided as yet but one possibility is having leather joining pieces instead of the mesh webbing stuff that the Italian mats come with.

I'm very happy with the quality of their work and am sure my floor mats will be of the same high standard.

I will post pics as things progress.

Hi Muz,

You can count me in for a set.

I'd prefer a synthetic webbing between the pieces rather than dead cow though.

Sure. This is what I want to hear... your preferences. No use doing something solely to my own tastes.

Muz, you are a shameless capitalist catering to the whims of us conspicuous consumers; keep it up!

lvs2k - LOL ... not really ...it's just that our dollar is so weak against yours that it often forces us to look for local solutions.

Of course this makes exporting feasible but importing is a different story.

You put a smile on an economists face Muz . I think we're goiing to have to make our own dead peddles too. Remember, all these products are good for UK and Japanese customers too. Even some parts of Europe.

Just wait till I get the details on these ROH Adrenalin wheels and DBA rotors. Then the greenbacks will be rolling into the economy.

Here's some pics of my session at the trim shop for the floor mat templates today.

It's late so tomorrow I'll explain what's going on in each pic.

Making the basic passenger's side template.

The cut-out template, trimmed and fitting just nicely.

You may be thinking "is that mat going to be one piece?". I don't know yet but here's a little demo of how they could fit the mat perfectly around that brace. (This is a piece of scrap so please don't take this to be the quality of the finished product.)

By running a tight stitch along the edge of what will be the rubber backing (i.e. not the fabric) you can shape the mat to fit.

A couple more runs with the sewing machine and you're starting to get the picture.

The driver's side.

And of course ..my ride

Muz,

Great! Yes, this sort of project is good not only for Australia, but for UK and Japan, and I certainly want to order a pair!:-)

Well.. hopefully I'll be posting some more pics tomorrow after calling back to the shop.

The guy who does all my stuff has been a trimming cars for 30 years so I'm expecting he'll come up with something pretty good for me.
