Default $300+ for transmision and diff fluid change?

I orderred new diff and honda MTF trans fluid from hardtopguy.
The local place that changed my oil quoted about $300 for changing the both fluids!?
I stopped by another place and he said he wouldn't do it "because its an s2000" and "they are funny" ?

I don't know what is going on around here is there something I don't know about changing the fluids?

I mean to save $300 I thought I would just do the trans myself - I have an 03 with bad 2nd gear grind and I wanna see if the new fluid will help this

I have changed the oil in an s2000 before and I have done a few other things to it, pulled the lights out and baked them to get the amber out etc

Changing the trans fluid should be easy enough for me?

The only thing funny is the shops' incompetency to do a simple oil change. Yes, this is a DIY job, there are alot of good tips and info in the FAQ section. Tackle this one yourself!

Yeah, $300 is a rort.

Do it yourself. You'll need a couple of metres of tube and a funnel but apart from that it is easy.

Book time is like a half hour for each, shouldn't be more than 120 for both!!

you can do it yourself with no problem

Where are you located? Try looking in the regional forums for a tech-day where someone can help you DIY.

I would do it for 1/3...screw that place.

Do it yourself and contribute $20 to s2ki.com is the right thing to do.
