350z v s2000
Well, if we were talking about which sports car to buy, the S or the Z coupe, then we'd have a close contest. But because we're talking about which roadster to buy, the S wins hands down.
Roadsters should be nimble and feel like a go cart when you have the top down. The Z roadster outweighs the S by several hundred pounds, particularly the touring and grand touring trim levels. I test drove the Z roadster and the S back-to-back, and the Z just feels heavier. Of course, it makes up for the added weight with more horsepower (287 vs. 240) and much more torque (274 @ 4800 vs. 162 @ 6500), but again, I prefer lightweight and nimble for a roadster.
Roadsters should also be gorgeous, and the Z falls short here (I like the looks of the coupe, though). Also, visibility in the Z with the top up blows ... hard.
However, as others have said, test drive one again (w/o the salesman, if possible) and see what you think. Also, if you are thinking about a model year 04+ S2000, you should test drive one of those as well, to see how you feel about the changes from pre-04.

the S2000 should surely pummel the 350ZR in any measurable performance contest.
I will test the z one more time and then probably go with the s. My only reservation is that the rx8 is a high revver and so is the s2000. It gets a little old after a while if you know what I mean

I am looking for some advice. I currently have an rx-8 as my practical 4
door family car and am looking to complement it with a convertible.
I used to have a 2003 s2000 and truly loved the car. I sold it to get a
911. What a mistake! The 911 spent more time getting repaired then anything
else.
My 2 choices now are to get another s2000 or perhaps go for a 350z
roadster. I test drove the nissan but the salesman was babbling so much I
was unable to really test the car properly. Probably I will test it again.
I am looking for your opinions to help me decide! I am looking at the 2005
model year.
