can someone post pics of your cars with the 3m bra on it?
This product goes by another name ............... Invisibra. Guess why it's called that. It is very difficult to photograph. Under most light, it won't show up on a pic.
Yeah, I can try to post a pic this weekend, but it doesn't show. You have to be a couple feet from the car, and you see a line where the mask ends. that's about it.
Shop around for pricing. I've seen them reported here ranging from $400.00 to a whopping $1500.00. They'll charge whatever they can get. And in this instance, you don't always get what you pay for.
Oh here is a couple of photos showing the film, but not on a car:
I expected someone to just post a pic of the car with a clear bra, emphasizing how the bra can't be seen
Why would you get something half covered and leave a line like Ks320 mentioned about the hood? Wouldn't it look better if you just got the whole bumper covered (and if the hood...the whole hood) so the edges of the bra are flush with the edges of the bumper (or hood)?
Plastic cleaner was mentioned...Can clear bras be waxed? If not, will they dull the look of a freshly waxed car?

It's a barely visible line that you have to be a few feet from the car and look carefully to see it. Imagine if you place a piece of clear plastic flush on top of the metal, that's what it looks like (Actually, just like in xvipers pics above). I don't have a problem with that, doesn't bother me.
Why get it half covered? #1, because it's hardly visible, #2 because I had the option of either having it end 12" up the hood, or 18" up the hood. I went with the basic install, basic meaning 12." And #3 because I'm willing to tolerate a barely visible line in order to protect my front end without spending hundreds $$ more.
You could request for the whole hood and fenders to be covered, but the price goes up with the more material you use, and the more time it takes to install. I estimate you are probably looking at around 1 grand if you get the whole hood done. You could get your whole car done if you want. The same installer told me that he covered a Porsche 911 completely with 3M paint protection. The cost? $3,000 and took him and his assistant 3 days.
I also had the whole front bumper, fenders (12") and the headlights done. I don't have the lower lip. My cost was $440. I shopped around, because some people will charge close to $700 for the same thing.
BTW, I recommend to anyone to spend the extra $$ and get the headlights covered. The plastic gets tiny shatters over time from little rocks and road debris, and it oxidates, giving it that "fogged" look that you can't remove.
Yes, the bras can be waxed. You also have to be careful when you wax the paint at the edge of the plastic. You have to make sure no wax is forced under the plastic. I think some type of liquid or spray wax is probably better for that area. I wouldn't be applying carnauba at the edges, unless making sure it's going away from the edge of the plastic.
What about a conventional bra? Now, THAT'S a line. Would you get a giant conventional bra so the lines don't end up in the middle of something? The 3M bra is still the same idea - to protect the parts that are most likely to get hit by rocks.
There is a 3M film installer locally that has 2 new Mini's. They covered both cars completely in film, but this was a promotional thing to show it could be done. They're the company cars.
You can cover as much of your car as your heart desires. The only limitation is money. How badly do you want to Saran Wrap your S?
