I guess you'd want to make sure you don't have any swirl marks before getting this done. Would suck to pay hundreds to laminate swirl marks
I have found that swirl marks optically disappear when covered with 3M.

Why would you get something half covered and leave a line like Ks320 mentioned about the hood? Wouldn't it look better if you just got the whole bumper covered (and if the hood...the whole hood) so the edges of the bra are flush with the edges of the bumper (or hood)?
I agree it would look better. However, it will come at a high price.

The S was going to be my daily driver, and I wanted the front to have some protection from the crappy roads and winter in the Northeast. The line is a visible if your car is really dirty (cuz dirt does build up on the border). But then, again, I bought the film to protect my car, and didn't care too much about the looks. I don't feel like paying too much more to make the car look a tad nicer. If it doesn't cost much? then I would cover the whole car with film Then I could just wipe the car with a wet towel without having to worry about scratches

Thought I would share my experience here...

I decided not to clear bar the HOOD like most.

Why? I didn't want to see that "line". I know it would drive me nuts when waxing, and when dust collects. Plus, my car is a 2002, and no chips really anywhere on the hood anyway - - they all seem happen on the bumper, and lower lip spoiler.

I had the lower lip spoiler done and the full front bumper, and thicker pieces on the headlights. You cannot tell this has the clear bra with this setup unless your eyes are 2 inches from the car, not like others.

All work was performed by:

If you go with him, tell him Jason sent you.

Great guy, as anal as I am, which is anal! His hobby is cars as well, and flawless work.

Now for the pics:

It's funny when I look at that cup with the old 3m film you can actually see that it is slightly yellow. The new films have certainly improved in many ways. I personally don't care for the 3M anymore. I use Avery top coat for most of my installs. Both are clearcoated films but I prefer the pliability and the appearance of the Avery over the 3M. Not to metion the adhesive on the 3M is delicate.

It still puzzles me that people are so concerned about the line on the hood and would rather have rock chips instead. On the silver car pictured it is probably one of the best colors where the clear bra is not noticable.
