I recently picked up some 3rd brake lights from various clearouts of unwanted parts. I noticed that there are two different varieties.

One type has a shallow scallop moulded into it and a more upturned lip (top). The other is a simpler shape (bottom).




Does anyone know when these differences occurred in the model range?

 

Muz, Yes, MY00-01 has a smaller version. The MY02+ is larger version.

Dimensionally they seem the same. Just one has more turn up at the lip and the dimple underneath.

But good to know there was a distinction between AP1 and AP1.5.

 

Not that you will but if you are buying a Mugen 3-Piece Air Dam, you must have the MY00-01 version to fit the lower recess.

 

Ah yes, I didn't think about those lip spoilers.

 

Yes, that is exactly why I know this little know fact. I have an MY02 and w/ Mugen three piece wing..
