Default Third brake light out - Car failed safety

Hi all,

My 3rd brake light is out and my car did not pass safety emission. My trunk release button works from the car and remotely.

How do I fix this problem without buying a new 3rd brake light? Could it be wiring/fuse issue? Or did the 3rd brake light just stop working and needs to be replaced?

It's an MY02 s2k.

Thanks.

Before you go out replacing parts, you need to troubleshoot for root cause. Are you getting voltage at that connector interface when brakes are applied?

Also are your tail/brake lights lighting up when you apply the brake? If not, your brake switch under the pedal is faulty or needs adjustment.

The other brake lights work fine. Only the third brake light is out. You can't change the buld because its led.

I have a volt meter at work so ill check it tomorrow.

I believe it's many LED's, BUT you cannot replace one LED you have to replace the whole assembly.
