I have just 800 miles on my '03. When the car is cold, third gear synchro seems a bit weak and shifting from second of fourth produces comething between a click and a soft clunk. This happens no matter how long I wait between leaving another gear and moving into third. None of the other speeds do this. Once things warm up, the problem goes away and third gear is butter smooth.

Do they all do this, is my car too new, or is something amiss in the transmission?

 

Usually, it is 2nd that is tough when cold.

actually, i think my gear box is not really smooth until it's warmed up

after everything is warmed up, i everything is fine

 

ive got a 2000 and have the same deal. until warmed up mine doenst go into third too smoothly. when cold i cant downshift to first unless im completly stopped. it all goes away when the car warms up though
