well AP2 is still 4.10, just the extra torque and lower RPM helps it faster than the AP1 at start

I personally dont think i would want the 4.77 gears. Cruising at highway speed would be a little too much for me. I think i would rather get the 4.56 gears over the 4.77 gears for that very reason. To each his own though.

I know the dilemma you're in. I myself was in it for a long time before I decided to go with the 4.77. If you do a search you'll find my review with a video clip as well. To summarize, if its your only car, don't do this mod. Its a fantastic mod for the AP1, but its also one of the main things Honda revised for the AP2. My opinion if you want to change the gearing, get 4.44. I just can't justify the price for the 4.56, especially with it already being so close to 4.77 gearing.

Motorklasse has a group buy for their 4.44 gearing right now. Read up on that. I've heard great things about them until their last group buy of Amuse R1-style front bumpers that turned out horrible. I really want in on that group buy, but I'm going to wait until I hear the reviews for them. 4.44 gears from J's is $1200 compared to Motorklasse's $400. I hope 1/3 of the price doesn't mean a 1/3 of the reliability.

The gearing difference between an AP1 and AP2 with 4.56 final drive is very small.. I don't know where all this OOo 4.56s stink in an AP2 comes from.. go see for yourself http://www.turnzero.com/technical_resource...gear_calculator

The gears from J's are most likely the same just marked up ridiculously. They may also cryo there gears but you can have that done for less than 100.00 bucks. I waited for ever for the Motorklasse group buy and ended up purchasing my 4.44 gears from racing beat for 450.00 same mazda gear and had them cryo treated for 70.00 bucks.

As for a difference I am very happy with this setup definitely accelerates harder. The difference between the 4.44 and 4.56 is about 3%.
