*UPDATE*

After having them for a few days now, I simply cannot go back to the 4.10s. The extra oomph in the city is just so great. On the highway it is very liveable. I was extremely worried about how it would be revving higher, but it certainly isn't a problem now. The car just seems a bit smoother with the gears... gas mileage is still good, but with the gears I find myself pushing the car quite a bit more

I personally don't feel the 4.77's to be too extreme for daily use. Sure, you shift more and it revs higher... but it changes the personality of the car a little bit. Going 90 on the highway has me right about 5500 rpms. It is still under VTEC so I'm quite pleased. When I'm cruising I don't really go much higher anyway. The most noise going that fast is still overpowered by the wind swirling around. The engine is just smoothly purring away without any problems at all.

that's such good news to hear man! 5500 rpms at 90 isnt that bad at all either, can you still hear yourself think with the exhaust though?

I seriously feel bad for glagola1, I told him time and time again that it was his mechanic and not the gears that was the cause of his problems. But I am glad to see that someone else got something out of this ordeal.

Wow, my mechanic blows. I'm glad you didn't have any problems! When I first saw your post I was worried.

Congratulations and rock on dude.

How much difference do you see in the revs and how much difference in gas mileage?

Gas mileage from what I can tell is the same. I'll let you know after I do a refill and recalculate it. On the tank I'm on now it is a little screwed up on my mileage since I drove a couple days without the yellow box installed. It is about 600 rpms higher at all speeds vs. stock.

There is nothing that mechanics hate more than a high-maintenance customer. They're labeled as whiners and the mechanic is more likely to itemize and charge higher - in addition to being less enthusiastic about doing work for you.

- yup, I use to work at a shop and it was very annoying when someone watches...
- actually any type of work, I deal with computers now and its annoying when someone watches me do something on computers as well.. hahaha
- back to the topic... GG
