Default 4 month wait for hardtops?

Has anybody heard that there is at least a 4 month wait for a hardtop if you DO NOT order it WITH the car?

I doubt it. technically, I ordered mine with the car, but my salesman didn't actually put the order in until about 2 weeks before the car was due to arrive. He thought it would only take 2 weeks - it ended up being 3 weeks. What you heard can't be correct.

4 months seems long. I got mine in less than 3 weeks from the dealer.
I live in California, and my sales person told me that there is a warehouse in San Diego that keeps an inventory of hardtops. It didn't sound like the car had to be shipped from Japan with the hardtop.

Are the HandA parts good. Are they genuine? Is it the same as ordering right from the dealer?

Ajjra, this is the response I received from Curry Honda of Mass:

Hi, thank you for your recent inquiry on the hardtop. Honda is
currently
running a promotion on these so that I could sell you one for $2200.00.
If
you pick it up, you would have to pay 5% Mass sales tax which is
$110.00. If
you have us ship it, it would cost nothing for sales tax but the s/h
would be
$220.00 with Emery worldwide. The top itself is only 45lbs but with the
box &
packing material it totals at 100lbs. I am going to put this on an
auction on
eBay today but the promotion is only good until March 31st so it has to
be
bought & paid for before then. It takes approximately 2-4 weeks to come
in
once it's ordered and paid for. Let me know if you have any other
questions
or if you want to order it. My eBay auction name is Ecurryparts.

Melissa Tse
Parts Manager
Curry Honda

Although this promotion was suppose to expire on 3/31/02 so I don't know if the prices are still good.
