Ok, so I made the plunge, and got the car of my dreams (2004 S2000)... However, I guess college has taught me a thing or two about being rational, and making wise decisions.

I have a 2000 Integra that is paid off, but has to go, because I don't need two cars. I have two choices:

Sell the integra, because I currently have an offer on it..

or

Sell the S2000 to Carmax, because they offered me $30k for it, which is my payoff....

I am mainly concerned with the 4 year lease on the S2000.. Did I lease for too long??

However, if i get rid of the S2000, I lose $800 in inception fees, as well as the two payment sthat have been made on it...

Guys, please convince me that a 4 year lease is no too long!!!

I am in love with the car, but not sure to break out of it while I can, and make a wise financial decision in keeping the paid off car.....

I know if I wait a few months, I will easily be a couple grand upside down on the S2000, so it is basically now or never....

What would you guys do..

Any insight will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

get rid of the s2000 and keep the integra. there's nothing like driving a paid off car.

Why is 4yrs too long??? Are you worried about reliability? This car can definitely last 4yrs! If you worried about the fun factor. Just drop the top!

You can either lose the $800, or sell the integra invest the money, and hopefully that investment will help you with the repayments.

I personally wouldn't lease a car for that long.

I say get rid of the S2000. It doesn't sound like put much thought into your situation before "taking the plunge."

BTW, the payments you make on your lease are probably the same or more than what you would pay to BUY a 01-02 over 5 years w/ extended warranty. Biggest diff is you own it at the end. The bad thing about new cars is the depreciation. Used ones depreciate, too, but at a MUCH slower rate.

If you are IN college, get rid of the S2K. working long hours to pay for it can jeopardize your studies. If you are out and you can truly afford the S2K (under 20%, preferably 15% of your NET income), then by all means keep it!

i am just finishing my 4 year company hire purchase onmy s2k, and im actually refinanncing it for another year as i dont like what is out there. so ill keep it another year.
allkingz, please tell us why 4 years is too long. is it because something may happen inthat time period??
i guess maybe becasue this is a company lease, my own business rather, that i am less worried about the time period.
