I was thinking about purchasing some aftermarket seats and wanted to put a 4pt harness on it also. I don't really feel like purchasing a full roll bar that is technically illegal (obstructs rear view) and getting pulled over (turbo'ed). So I was wondering if there was a way to just put a harness bar infront of the stock roll hoops so the harness bar wouldn't obstruct my view. Is this possible/a good idea? Any suggestions? Thanks!

It seems to be the general opinion of this site that it is not safe to run harnesses without a full rollcage.

That being said people have mounted harnesses without any cage or harness bar. I'm not aware of a harness bar by itself without a cage.

ASM makes a nifty rear harness bar that attaches behind the seat. It costs about $650+ and I do not know how safe it is b/c of the angle. But judging by how race-oriented their products are, I doubt they would sell a part which can cause harm.

 

i have a 4pt roll cage - id doesnt obstruct my view.
if you angle the rear view mirror right, you cannot even see it.

I wouldnt attempt to install a harness bar with at least a roll bar
