Default 5500 rpm initial limit

Just got the S2000 on Wednesday, which immediately triggered four days of cold weather and rain - just my luck. Gave me sufficient time to read the owner's manual cover to cover. Buried in the fine print is an advisory to limit rpm's to under 5500 for the first 600 miles. I guess I will follow that rule, which leaves me about 460 more low rpm miles to go.
Am I the only one to notice this warning? If it's really important, how come Honda doesn't put a big red sticker on the dashboard where drivers will see it?

Most people around here take that advice quite seriously. It helps to break the engine in properly which most believe will give you a stronger engine in the long run. It will also potentially make the life of the engine longer.

If you do a search on the topic you will find hours of reading material on this. Be good to it and it will be good to you. Congrats on the car.

Hey just noticed where you live. My parents have a couple plots of land on Hilton Head Island (Indigo Run). That's a really nice place out there.
