595 and holding...the torture!
OK, fed up. 484 miles, I decide to blow some cobwebs out and do a round trip to see Ma and Pa in Charlottesville. I figured on the return leg I would hit 600, on Route 711, one of the coolest back roads I know, which winds through Powhatan (of Pocahontas fame) and Goochland Counties, past Lee's Last Camp before Appomatox. So I am blasting along, heel and toeing to perfection, when I realize I am 5 miles from home, the odometer says 590, and in the words of the Russian guy in FireFox, I realized "you of course vill not make it". 595 miles and holding. What self control - what an idiot? I need support, now!

My old job was to test each car coming off the trucks at the Honda dealership. My job was to hit Redline in every gear in every car we receive. Since I left I only broke one S2000. The valves got bent. I guess I held it in 9K too long
Most cars sold are already driven hard by testers (me), dealers, or test driving buyers.
The best thing to do is dyno the car as soon as possible or drive it hard. While dyno'ing you'll be redlining and that'll seat the seals properly. You'll get more HP.
