Pete, you ressurected a two year old thread. Click on the thread in my signature for information on approximately 40 short block replacements.

Please post here or private message me with more details of your friend's lost engine. If he got a short block replacement without being low on oil I'm very interested.

It was one thing for Honda to blame this on low oil in March of 2001 and something else in February of 2003, after a recall in Europe and after an updated oil jet bolt/short block world wide and forty short block failures, many with documented adequate oil.

Barry this is admirable on what you are doing. How about you start a 2nd gear grind thread to help Honda find out what the cause is. I am sure they know by now but mum is the word I guess.

InsaniT's engine blew a LONG time ago...after 2 years of litigation, he finally got compensated for the whole car. They blamed it on overrevving, but there wasn't any proof.

So I guess that's #11?

Just want to point to a new thread that is for gathering information about tracking the car and mechanical failures.

Thanks again to all that have helped along the way!
